So Many Summer Outfits To Rock Instead Of Shorts
You may think you’re the odd woman out for not wearing shorts in the summer, but I promise you’re not! A recent talk with a friend inspired me to write this post because she had an upcoming vacation and needed help putting together summer outfits that aren’t shorts. Here’s what I came up with:
Maxi Skirts and Dresses
1 – Cupshe Seychelles Maxi Dress // 2 – Nordstrom City Chic Plus Size Maxi Dress // 3 – Nordstrom Rack Go Couture Maxi Skirt // 4 – Macy’s Lauren Ralph Lauren Cotton Skirt //
When you want some flow and full coverage, maxi skirts and dresses are the way to go. Choose body-con, flowy, or something in between depending on your comfort level.
Pair maxi skirts and dresses with casual sandals, T-strap flats, or heels for going out. Add this cute raffia clutch to hold your essentials, and this classic wrap belt to define your waist.
Boyfriend Jeans or Cropped Jeans
1 – Neiman Marcus Joe’s Jeans Lara Ankle // 2 – NY&C Mya Curvy Skinny High Waist // 3 – Nordstrom Rack Joe’s Jeans Patchwork Boyfriend // 4 – 7 For All Mankind Josefina
In the thick of a humid summer day, you might want to steer clear of long, heavyweight jeans. Look for a relaxed or boyfriend fit with a cuffed or fray hem detail. If you want to show off the shape of your legs, but not your skin, try lightweight skinny ankle jeans to wear with sandals or casual sneakers. Pair your blue jeans with a twist on a white tee, or add a flirty pop of color to your white jeans.
Jumpsuits
1 – Nordstrom City Chic Off Shoulder Jumpsuit // 2 – Nordstrom Rack Velvet Heart Savannah Jumpsuit // 3 – Bloomingdales Splendid Soleil Jumpsuit // 4 – Amazon Belongsci Belted Jumpsuit //
Jumpsuits have come a long way from the ill-fitting, shapeless styles they once were. It’s easier than ever to take a jumpsuit from day to night. Put your hair up and flaunt this reverse statement necklace, along with these head-turning wrap heels.

Palazzo Pants
1 – Cupshe Kaylani Coverup Pants // 2 – Summersalt Palazzo Pant // 3 – Mott50 Aubrey High Rise Pant // 4 – Evereve Cecilia Gauze Pants //
These lightweight pants are versatile enough to wear casually or to work, depending on style and how you accessorize them. This tank top could be worn with all four pairs of pants. Take some of these looks into evening with this white denim jacket and classic sleeveless top.

Midi Dresses and Skirts
1 – Evereve Michael Stars Maya Midi Dress // 2 – Macy’s DKNY Faux-Wrap Midi Dress // 3 – Lulus Cheetah Midi Skirt // 4 – Kohls Petite Lands End Tiered Midi Skirt //
No doubt you’ve seen this mid-length style of dress or skirt everywhere. Match a casual midi dress or skirt with slip-on sneakers for a (fabulous) trip to the grocery store, or amp up an asymmetrical hem with a pair of heeled sandals.
Leggings
1 – Bloomingdales Spanx Back Seam Skinny Pant // 2 – Amazon IUGA High Waisted Leggings // 3 – Evereve Level 99 Cuff Pant // 4 – Shefit Boss Leggings //
Your leggings may have seen better days since 2020, but don’t count them out yet. You can still dress them up with a classic white tunic, or wear them casually as athleisurewear. Try this casual flirty cutout top with workout leggings, or wear this pretty seamed detail top on date night.
My top athletic legging choice for coverage, sculpting, and seamless comfiness is Shefit Boss Leggings. I own two pairs!
Final Thoughts
It might be easy to throw on a pair of shorts and call it a day, but when you have all these fun options, why would you? I hope you’ve been inspired to rock some new summer outfits, whether or not you hate wearing shorts. Anything else you’d like to see or think I missed? Let me know!
